US CPI slows to 3.4% in Apr, core CPI down to 3.6%

US CPI rose 0.3% mom in April, matched expectations. CPI core (ex food and energy) rose 0.3% mom, matched expectations. Energy index rose 1.1% mom while food index was unchanged.
