MSC Cruises’ Koreen McNutt posted an update on the cruise line’s Facebook page on Tuesday, Oct. 8 at 2:15 p.m. The cruise line had been publicly quiet about its plans before this (although it likely was communicating with impacted customers.

“We are continuing to monitor the path of Hurricane Milton, as it makes its way across the Gulf of Mexico towards the west coast of Florida. Due to forecasted weather conditions and always keeping the safety of our guests and crew members as our top priority, itinerary changes will be made in order to maintain a safe distance from Milton’s path,” she wrote.

Unlike its rivals Royal Caribbean and Carnival, much of MSC’s fleet is not currently sailing out of Florida.
