One of the largest cruise ships in the world, Symphony of the Seas, has been sailing out of New Jersey on 7-night Caribbean itineraries. Its final sailing from that port for the season took place in late October with Halloween taking place in the middle of the sailing.
The ship was decorated for the big day, and many passengers wore costumes. The Royal Promenade, the open mall-like space that takes up all of Deck 5, was the center of the Halloween action.

That popular space became a horror show, according to one passenger.
“They use dry ice for Halloween which set off the smoke detectors, slamming the watertight doors down, trapping cruisers near the rising tide bar, and cafe promenade, which turned into a pool, while ruining people’s clothes, cell phones and costumes,” one Reddit user shared.
The malfunction did not trigger any other safety measures, and nobody was injured; in addition, the Royal Promenade was back in full service the next morning.

Symphony of the Seas Halloween party goes wrong

Hi everyone, tonight’s video is interesting footage from Symphony of the Seas. The other night the fire suppression system started going off in the promenade and peoplecaptured some pretty interesting videos of what went down before they were able toshut that off.
I’m not sure what caused it. No one was hurt, so that’s good. If you’re on the ship and you ever wondering about the fire suppression system, this is a good example of what is on board. I’m really glad to say that no one was hurt and it’s interesting watching, I think, or interesting viewing.

“Okay, well, everybody, happy sailing.”
“Oh my gosh, this is the schooner bar. Everybody’s hiding out in here. This is bad.”

“Real-life horror show on Symphony of the Seas right now. And guess what? My mom and I are on it. Shut the water off already.”
