When a cruise ship gets a reputation for technical problems, that can make passengers wary.

Sometimes it’s just bad luck, like an athlete who sprains his ankle, comes back, and then breaks his arm slipping in the shower.

That’s not the same as a player who has chronic knee or back pain. Those injuries sometimes plague entire careers and never fully go away.

There are a handful of cruise ships in the Carnival Cruise Line fleet that have famously suffered recurring propulsion issues. 

Now, another Carnival ship has been having issues and people are worried that stops might be missed or cruises might be canceled.

Carnival Conquest has more technical issues

This is Cruise News Today with Doug Parker.

Good morning. Here’s your cruise news for Tuesday, January 14.

For the second time in a week Carnival Conquest was plagued by technical issues as it docked in Miami on Monday While boarding the current four-night sailing the captain announced that the ship would be leaving late followed by another announcement advising guests of scheduled maintenance now according to audio obtained by guests.

An electrical issue impacted the ship’s WiFi and some features of the hub app.

The vessel did eventually leave Port Miami last night just before 10 o’clock.

The captain did say the itinerary should not be impacted with today being a sea day This is the second issue the ship has experienced in a week following a propulsion problem last week. At the current rate guests should consider packing a toolbox along with their swimsuit

Holland America teams up with Wheel of Fortune

And Holland America Line has teamed up with Wheel of Fortune to present cruise week airing all week through Friday each episode will highlight a destination featured on Holland America cruises including Alaska, the Med, and the Caribbean.

The Wheel of Fortune set also features nautical themed Holland America Line flags above the main screen and a backdrop resembling a ship behind the contestants. Home viewers can also participate in the daily Wheel of Fortune sweepstakes.

And Disney Cruise Line has announced that three of its four new ships on order will be smaller They’ll accommodate around 3,000 guests and be around a hundred thousand gross registered times each now the ship set for delivery between 2027 and 2031 will feature efficient designs including the ability to use alternative fuels.

These smaller ships will also allow them to visit destinations that limit larger ships Meanwhile its largest ship Disney Adventure debuts this year as the first homeport vessel in Asia offering a capacity for over 6,500 passengers.
