Loren Torres: Apple’s best-selling laptop is getting an upgrade. The company announced its new MacBook Air model that comes with a faster M-4 chip and an upgraded camera.
And despite seemingly everything getting more expensive, Apple is cutting the price of the new Air by $100. The price drop is even more surprising given that many experts believe new tariffs implemented by Donald Trump will cause electronics to become more expensive.
The new MacBook Air has a starting price of $999 for the 13-inch model, with the 15-inch model starting at $1,099. Both versions go on sale March 12.

In addition to the upgraded MacBook, Apple also announced a new version of its Mac Studio, as well as a chip upgrade to the iPad Air. These new product announcements come less than a month after Apple unveiled the low-cost iPhone 16e.
That’ll do it for your daily briefing. From New York City, I’m Loren Torres with TheStreet.
