For regular cruisers, sometimes there are little things that both you which don’t really impact your cruise, but you still wish they could be fixed.

for some people, it’s the number of outlets and whether there’s a USB port near the bed. That may seem like a small thing, but some people have a lot of devices and like to have their phone near them when they sleep.

In other cases, it’s storage in the bathroom. Many crew ship bathrooms have very little in the way of storage and some of what they offer is loose shelves rather than drawers.

Many cruise ship passengers wish the showers were a little bit bigger.

There are lots of tiny complaints that don’t really impact your cruise.

In this video, Come Cruise With Me Executive Editor Dan Kline shares one of his small peeves and the brilliant way Norwegian cruise line has fixed it

Norwegian Cruise Lines solves a key drink problem (1:01)

Norwegian Cruise Line serves drink garnishes properly

Transcript:

Dan Kline: Hello, cruisers. I am Dan Kline, executive editor of Come Cruise With Me, that is comecruisewith.com. I am on the Norwegian Aqua.

It is about lunchtime. I am really impressed that Norwegian has solved something. You’ve heard me talk about this before.

You know this is ridiculous, but you get a drink at the cruise ship bar and they give you your garnish, your fruit, and it’s just floating in there.

So you get a lime or a lemon. You want to squeeze that into your gin and tonic, your vodka tonic, whatever it might be. And you have to put your hands, which probably have hand sanitizer on them, which may not be the cleanest, in your drink.

It’s a small pet peeve, I know, but here on the Norwegian Aqua, they have solved this problem in the simplest way possible. Your garnish is on a toothpick. Now I know environmental people are not going to be thrilled.

There’s extra plastic on a toothpick. This is some sort of like wood, I’m not really sure, hopefully it’s biodegradable, but it solves a problem. It keeps me from having to put my hands in my drink.

I know it’s ridiculous, but it’s something every cruise line should do.

I am Dan Kline, come cruise with me soon.
