Competition among fast-food chains is getting more challenging each year, which is hard for businesses but beneficial to consumers.    

To keep up with their rivals and prevent them from falling behind on consumer trends, fast-food chains have prioritized innovation by constantly developing and launching new menu items that are unique enough to attract consumers’ attention and go viral on social media.

Wendy’s has recently been at the top of its game in terms of innovation, unveiling innovative products customers can’t get enough of.

Because the Frosty has been a customer favorite since launching in 1969, Wendy’s has turned its attention to this iconic dessert. 

After months of teasing, the fast-food chain recently introduced the highly anticipated Frosty Swirls and Frosty Fusions. Now, it is doubling down on this fan favorite by adding another Frosty-inspired product.

Wendy’s releases new, ‘dirty’ menu item

Wendy’s  (WEN)  revealed it is bringing the Frosty Fizz to its summer menu. This latest addition blends any soda flavor with its classic vanilla Frosty mix to create a unique version of the increasingly trendy, so-called “dirty” soda.

Customers can enjoy their favorite soda flavor at Wendy’s in a Frosty Fizz style for a limited time. However, there’s a catch, because the permanent menu addition is only available in Canada, as reported by @snackolator on Instagram.

Wendy’s first introduced the Frosty Fizz across its Canada locations last year, and it gained so much traction that the fast-food chain returned it to its menu this year.

Wendy’s could bring the Frosty Fizz to the US

It seems like Wendy’s could easily bring the Frosty Fizz to the U.S. since it already has all the ingredients necessary to craft this drink in locations nationwide. Yet the fast-food chain has yet to reveal any plans to do so. 

An Instagram user even provided input on how Wendy’s could introduce the Frosty Fizz to U.S. menus by commenting, “They could do it in the U.S. The Frostycinno that they serve for breakfast hours. Use the same mixture. The freestyle options would be endless. I can see Orange Coke working in there.”

Whether due to efficiency reasons, supply chain restraints, or other outside factors, Wendy’s fans in the U.S. shouldn’t lose hope of getting this permanent beverage addition someday, since the fast-food chain hasn’t ruled out the possibility. 

There seems to be a demand for it, at least among some Wendy’s customers on social media, with many asking the fast-food chain to make it available in the U.S.

A user on Instagram commented, “I got so excited until I saw Canada only.”

Other netizens commented on soda flavors they would love to see become available in Frosty Fizz form.
