While many might offer the option, not many of us think of our local supermarket as the best place for a freshly-prepared meal.

Still, most every grocery chain offers some kind of home-cooked-style or fresh meal options.

Some have hot bars or salad bars. Others have sushi or poke bowl stations. Many make fresh subs and sandwiches at the deli counter.

And, if they’re really fancy, stores will even provide seated dining, so you can sit down and enjoy a meal with friends.

But the truth is, not many of us avail ourselves of these options.

Even some of the most bustling grocery stores, like Wegmans or Whole Foods, often see their seated dining areas go empty for much of the day.

It’s not that the food is bad. It’s just that most of us rarely correlate a weekly trip to the grocery store with a sit-down meal.

Usually, we’re going to the grocery store so we can avoid paying for takeout and cook at home instead.

Grocery warehouses offer unique options

Of course, there is an exception to every rule.

And in the case of grocery dining, warehouse club stores, like Walmart-owned  (WMT)  Sam’s Club and Costco  (COST) , offer something of a dining destination.

Costco’s food court is famous for good reason; it sells a $1.50 hot dog meal combo which has not seen price inflation for years.

Both Costco and Sam’s Club customers laud the food courts for their many reasonably-priced options.

And since a trip to one of these large-format stores often involves over an hour of shopping, it’s easy to understand why customers work up an appetite and need sustenance afterward.

Costco may be known for its hot dogs, but devoted shoppers claim Sam’s Club pizza is actually some of the best available around town.

Until recently, however, you’d need to go into a Sam’s Club to get your pizza, which was pretty inconvenient. Especially since many other competitors, like Domino’s, Panera, and even Wawa, offer delivery.

So now, Sam’s Club will begin rolling out a pizza delivery option to members.

Members can access delivery in as little as three hours for free. They can also upgrade to an express option for $8.

Pizzas are 16 inches, priced at a very reasonable $8.98 and come in three options:

The delivery option will be rolled out across the U.S by the end of May.
