Looking for sneakers is a rabbit hole everyone seems to fall down at one point or another. Personally, I’ve been known to buy a pair (or seven) of expensive running shoes in my day. Spoiler: They didn’t make me run faster or jump higher. They did, however, drain my wallet and annoy my wife. Nevertheless, casual sneakers, even if only a single pair, are a must-have for any wardrobe to be complete. When I’m not donning a pair of high-end running sneakers, I like to wear something a bit more low-key and breathable, especially if I find a good deal. I live in Hawaii, which is warm year-round, so comfortable semi-open footwear is something I’m constantly searching for.

I’ve found that wearing sneakers and socks for long periods in hot, humid weather causes plenty of discomfort and unpleasantness. Sweat and sustained moisture when wearing standard sneakers for long periods in the heat can lead to blisters, fungal infections, and unpleasant odors. While running shoes with socks are fine for me sometimes, I need alternative footwear that allows lots of airflow while still protecting my feet. I recently found the perfect solution in the form of sneaker-style sandals that get compliments literally every time I wear them. I got them for a very low price at Amazon, and you can, too.

The Saguaro Slip-On Sneaker Sandals are only $23 at Amazon. That’s far less than a single tank of gas these days, so they’re surely worth a look. I currently wear these shoes more than almost anything else in my closet, so the ROI on this footwear is massive at this price.

What makes these shoes so special?

These sneakers have such an original design that it’s hard to believe they’re available for so little. For starters, they bear a striking resemblance to Converse Chuck Taylor low-top sneakers. Whenever I wear these shoes, people always notice them and say they like them because they “look like Converse sneakers designed by Crocs”, or some variation of this. They’re not wrong. From a distance, you might even mistake them for that classic canvas sneaker design that we all know so well.

While they may look like traditional canvas sneakers, they certainly don’t feel that way. The shoes have lots of holes (à la Crocs) on every surface of them. This allows for continuous airflow and solves the problems of moisture, blistering, and odor all at once. While I occasionally wear socks with them, you definitely don’t need to. That said, if you do choose to wear them with socks, your feet still get more exposure to airflow than they otherwise would in traditional sneakers.

Aside from the open design of this footwear, it also offers amazing cushioning. The solid cushioned rubber design is soft and has plenty of give. I have found these to be just about as comfortable as my expensive Adidas recovery shoes that cost three times as much. I can’t think of another casual sandal-style shoe that delivers as much comfort, style, and versatility as this one for such a surprisingly low price point. They’re available in eight colorways and a variety of men’s and women’s sizes.

I’m certainly not the only one who is a big fan of these sandals. Several buyers called them comfortable, and one said, “These were perfect for our beach trip…I also plan on wearing them in the garden.” The reviews highlighted all the different situations in which these shoes blend in perfectly, and I concur.

The Saguaro Slip-On Sneaker Sandals are a steal at just $23. If you want a shoe you can wear just about anywhere, but feel as comfortable as possible, then this is the buy for you. These tend to sell out quickly and may take some time to restock. As such, I recommend you put a pair or two in your cart sooner rather than later.
