There was a time when Tesla  (TSLA) – Get Free Report caught some flak over the color of its EV models, which mostly came in white or, to a lesser extent, gray or black.

Not anymore, if Tesla has anything to say about it.

The automaker is rolling out a new factor color wrap program for its Model Y and Model 3 vehicles, starting at a $7,500 price.

The company made the announcement on its website, although Tesla influencer Sawyer Merritt reported the new program on X.

The seven new Tesla “color wrap” models, with price, are as follows:

Satin Stealth Black: $7,500Glacier Blue: $8,000

Satin Rose Gold: $8,000

Slip Grey: $7,500

Forest green: $8,000

Satin Ceramic White: $8,000

Crimson Red: $8,000

Participating Tesla Service centers will install it for owners and Tesla will provide the new wraps after a Tesla sedan has been delivered.

“Wrap your Model 3 or Model Y in one of our premium Color Wraps, only available through Tesla,” the company stated on its website. “Offered in seven exclusive colors, this self-healing urethane-based film protects the paint beneath from chips, scratches, and swirling.”

There are some caveats with the new color deal.

“The color wraps are only available for 2023+ Model 3 and Model Y vehicles. “You must be on the Tesla app version 4.23.0 or newer to purchase,” the company noted.

Tesla may have an owner issue with the color wrap pricing.

“That’s expensive at $8K,” said one X commentator. “Great wrap companies will charge $4k max. Hard pass.”

Tesla is steering interested customers to its product inquiry page but EV owners can also contact their closest dealership for more details. Or, get more details on the Tesla mobile app.

The company is looking to leverage its increased manufacturing capacity and give auto consumers more reasons to buy a new Tesla amidst widespread reports of EV charging problems and as Tesla has had to cut vehicle costs to attract more buyers.

Inventory doesn’t seem to be a problem.

In the third quarter, Tesla manufactured over 430,000 vehicles and delivered over 435,000 vehicles, with the Model S/X accounting for 13,688 new vehicles and the Model 3/Y with 416,800 new vehicles.

Additionally, the automaker’s 2023 volume target of around 1.8 million vehicles remains unchanged.
