J.D. DURKIN: I’m J.D. Durkin – reporting from the New York Stock Exchange. Here’s what we’re watching on TheStreet today.

Wall Street is digesting yet another employment report that showed signs of slowing in the labor market. The U.S. economy added 103,000 private sector jobs in November, below analyst expectations of 128,000. This report comes just a few days before the all-important November jobs report on Friday.

Meanwhile, Wall Street is paying close attention to the crypto market after Bitcoin surpassed $44,000. The digital asset has seen its price skyrocket 150 percent this year alone.

In other news – here’s one more thing artificial intelligence is taking over: your internet searches. On Tuesday, Wikipedia released its top 25 most viewed pages from 2023 – and at the very top of the list is Chat GPT.

The Wikimedia Foundation, which operates Wikipedia, says the site has gotten more than 84 billion page views so far in 2023, and Chat GPT’s page has been visited 49.4 million times – about 7 million more views than the second spot on the list. Speaking with CNN, the Wikimedia Foundation’s chief communications officer said, “It’s clear that people wanted to better understand the history and the context behind Chat GPT’s technology as they experimented with it.”

Rounding out the top five were the list of notable people who died in 2023, the 2023 Cricket World Cup, the Indian Premier League – which is a cricket league, and the movie Oppenheimer.

The top 25 pages also included several movies, celebrities, and world events, some of which were Taylor Swift at number 12, Elon Musk at number 19, and Russia’s invasion of Ukraine at number 24.

That’ll do it for your daily briefing. From the New York Stock Exchange, I’m J.D. Durkin with TheStreet.
