I found this in the sidebar. I started taking the courses. About 1/2 of the way through the course he references files you should have downloaded, that are no longer hosted.
Does anyone know where those files can be located? I went to his website and bought his new C# course, but they’re very different classes and those files aren’t hosted there either.
Hi everyone. It’s me … no, really. 🙂
So, long story on that.
Short version: we lost the files. Microsoft lost them, I lost them. They’re lost. If someone else has a repo where you can grab them, then AWESOME!
I could go through a re-create those files, but I decided it would make more sense to just re-record it all and … well … that’s a big undertaking, esp. when I have a full-time job now (ironically, now that I work at Microsoft, I don’t have the time to create video content for Microsoft).
If you want to see some of my latest work, check out these Microsoft Learn courses on C#:

(and all the ones that come after that learning path).
Thanks!
Hey Bob! You had a huge impact in my life. I got my start in programming with the C# for Absolute Beginners course. Then I did Windows Phone 8.1 for Absolute Beginners after that (I owned a Lumia phone so it was cool). That must have been 2014-ish.
Towards the end of 2015 year, I got my first job as a developer maintaining an ASP.net Web Forms app. It was an internal promotion from software QA because I showed an interest and none of the “real” devs were interested in sticking with it, all of them wanted to move on to the new hotness. Today I’m a Xamarin dev and I feel like I really found a groove in my career.
Bob, honestly thank you so much for your videos. Really helped kick start my career as a developer. Kudos.
I took a c# class a few semesters ago, the content of which was basically 100% your videos. Neat. Hi, Bob. The teacher’s name was also Bob.
Dude, thank you for all your work. I started learning C# with this course. And well I work in the field for 5 years already. That knowledge allowed me to relocate several times and significantly improve my live and lives of my family.
Wish you all the best.

Disclaimer!
I have not seen the videos nor checked the content of the repo!
As a side note, I started my programming journey with Bob Tabor and this series. I’m now a professional dev and really owe it to this series.
Awesome! So glad I could play a small role in your success. 😀
Same here! I credit bob for my first job 🙂
Hey! I got my start with Bob Tabor!
Awesome! Tell me more!
Hey, that dude got me to where I am now! During my apprenticeship as a system administrator I got bored because it was to low level for me, so I started to program on my own. Guess what I do now… Full time developer in .Net 🙂 as a certified system administrator. The IT world is crazy, I love it.
That’s awesome! So happy for you!
I would just skip that first course and go with Bob’s paid courses instead. You’ll get a better tutorial anyways.
Are you talking about these courses? > https://bobtabor.thinkific.com/collections?page=1
I used to watch the VB.NET series every night multiple times. I learned so much about programming from these videos. I moved on to csharp which is now my favorite language. It’s such a bummer the files got lost.
Yes, I loved VB, but at some point it was too hard to create content for both languages and it looked like C# had all the momentum. Glad the videos helped!
