Most people go on cruises in order to indulge.
Eating and drinking may not be their sole reason for cruising, but many passengers more than get their money worth when it comes to their cruise. Many people have a favorite indulgence that they just have to have as soon as they board, while others have old favorites they enjoy multiple times per cruise.

In real life, or at least on dry land when not on a vacation, people don’t cap off three heavy meals with late-night pizza or room service. Cruises, however, are vacations and many people give themselves permission to overindulge when they’re taking time off from work.
Carnival Brand Ambassador posed a simple poll question to his followers:
“Which of these do you do on your cruises?”
The items being voted on were all food and exercise related. The results from over 4,400 voters will not shock you.

Carnival passengers speak up for cruise gluttony
Most respondents spoke out in favor of letting loose when it comes to eating on their cruise.
“Usually get at least one ice cream cone a day, one pizza each day, and when on the Excel class a must is Shaq’s chicken,” posted Paige Erickson posted.
Janice Blackwell VonWagoneer likes to shake up her indulgences each day.
“I may not eat a Guys everyday, but that’s because I’m eating Shaq’s chicken, potatoe salad and spicy pickles.I have some type of dessert twice a day, that’s not counting the ice cream, that could be twice a day,” she wrote, but she does also exercise. “I do walk the jogging track or inside the ship, I get plenty of steps in everyday.”
Daniel Donnelly wants to indulge but has some issues with Carnival.
“I used to get the Chocolate Melting Cake, but for my last 4-5 cruises with Carnival, the Melting Cake was no longer melting. They are always way over-cooked. On my next cruise I may try to ask the wait staff if I can order it “medium or medium rare, not well done,” he shared.
Nancy Tober Wainwright likes to indugle, but she mixes things up.
“A vacation for me is cruising and indulging! I don’t eat any one choice everyday as I am obsessed with something new and different everyday,” she wrote.
Some passengers truly consider a cruise a break from their everyday good habits.
“I am very careful about what I eat at home as I am in a weight management program. But I inform my nutritionist that while on the ship, I will say what I want. I know what I need to do to lose weight, because I have already lost 45 pounds. I will just get back on the program once I get back home and lose it again,” shared Gayle Jankowski Wojciechowski.
Shawn Caccia made a case for moderation.
“Actually none of the above. While I will eat each of those things at least once or twice, not every day. Too much other goodness on the ship! As for counting steps, some of these ships are like walking football fields from one end to the other! I know I’m getting steps in, lol,” he wrote.

Diane Dirla sort of has a mixed approach.
“It is possible to eat healthy and cruise. I love vegetables and having so many to choose from all prepared already is a treat! But — it may be a little cone but that ice cream has to happen most days,” she posted.
