The Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2025 begins Monday, and one of the most highly anticipated events will take place this evening. Nvidia (NVDA)  CEO Jensen Huang will take the stage tonight in Las Vegas to discuss the companyâs plans for the year and likely provide key updates on some new products.
Huang unveiled the new GeForce RTX 40 SUPER Series graphics cards during CES 2024, a lineup of graphics processing units (GPUs) with more speed than their predecessors.Â
Now, the artificial intelligence (AI) leader is expected to reveal more key innovations at CES 2025, which could offer an important preview for the year ahead in tech.
NVDA stock has risen steadily over the past week, likely in anticipation of the key event. But what precisely should everyone be expecting when Huang takes the stage tonight?

Nvidia CES 2025: what to watch for
Tech enthusiasts have been speculating for weeks on what Nvidia will unveil at the CES 2025 address. After last yearâs keynote, which brought several significant updates, the stakes are high, and Huang likely knows it.
As James “Rev Shark” DePorre of TheStreet Pro recently noted, NVDA stockâs performance suggests that investors are anticipating a new product. It could be a new AI chip series that fans of both AI and gaming are eagerly awaiting.

Much of the speculation is focused on the pending release of the new GeForce RTX 5000 Graphics card series. These new AI chips are likely to significantly enhance digital gaming and deliver faster computational power for machine learning and AI models.
Given Nvidiaâs status as the leader of the AI sector, much of the focus has been on the updates it will provide at CES 2025 on its GPUs. Following the recent developments that suggest market conditions may be shifting toward the custom silicon chips made by Broadcom (AVGO) , Nvidia may be under pressure to show it can keep pace with the changing industry tides.
While the company hasnât confirmed that it will unveil this new graphics card series at CES 2025, it has hinted at it. In a December 2024 blog post on the upcoming event, Nvidia highlighted the importance of GPUs as a gaming component, stating:
âGPUs redefined gaming as an art form, and NVIDIAâs AI tools empower labs, factory floors and Hollywood sets. From self-driving cars to automated industrial processes, these tools are foundational to the next generation of technological breakthroughs.â
With companies such as Google (GOOGL)  and Amazon (AMZN)  doubling down on in-house chip production, Nvidia is likely seeking to demonstrate that its GPUs are still fundamental to AI market growth.Â

However, the company seems to be focused on more than just AI chips. In fact, it may be eyeing a new area of technology and projects that could help shape its future.Â
Is Nvidia nearing a new âChatGPT moment?â
Despite its status as a leading AI chipmaker, Nvidia may be branching out into other areas.Â
Last week, news broke that the company planned to launch the Jetson Thor, its âlatest generation of compact computers for humanoid robots,â in the first half of 2025. This timeline would lend itself well to an update or unveiling during the Nvidia CES 2025 keynote.

The Financial Times reports that Nvidia sees a ârobotics revolutionâ as imminent, highlighting a statement from vice-president of robotics Deepu Talla, who predicts a âChatGPT momentâ for physical AI and robotic technology and that the industry is nearing a âtipping pointâ in the near future.
While most focus on the Nvidia CES address seems to be on the graphics card update, Nvidia will likely want to display progress across multiple areas. If so, an update on its robotic technology could be in the CES 2025 lineup as well.
Nvidia first unveiled Jetson Thor in March 2024 as part of its Project GR00T initiative, which is designed to accelerate humanoid robot development through general-purpose foundation models and other tools and technologies.
Huang described this process as âone of the most exciting problems to solve in AI today,â highlighting the significant progress that he saw as possible for this fast-growing area of technology. Almost a year later, the company likely has updates to share.
With AI chip market conditions shifting and competition rising, the timing seems opportune for Nvidia to start establishing itself as more than the dominant AI chip maker. CES 2025 provides an ideal stage to discuss this new focus and show the world how Nvidia plans on conquering what may be one of the tech sectorâs latest growth markets.Â
