This Texas-based fast food chain is unlike any other because it has maintained the same traditions and great taste for nearly 75 years while remaining innovative by launching new menu items and revamping its stores.Â

Whataburger brings back the fan-favorite Mushroom and Swiss Burger
In celebration of its 75th Anniversary and as a thank you to all customers who have stuck by the chain’s side, as well as the new ones who remain loyal, Whataburger is returning the beloved Mushroom and Swiss Burger after a three-year hiatus.
“You asked, we listened—our Mushroom Swiss Burger is back! Because some legends don’t belong in the past… they belong in your hands,” said Whataburger President and CEO Debbie Stroud. “This year marks our 75th anniversary, and we wanted to give our customers something they’ve been asking for,” Stroud added.

The reintroduction of this burger comes after over 7,200 Whataburger fans signed a petition asking for it to be returned to the menu.
The Whataburger Mushroom and Swiss Burger first launched in 2018, and only a year later, it was named a fan-favorite by the fast food chain due to its huge popularity. However, the beloved burger was mysteriously removed in 2022, never to be seen again.Â

But what makes this burger so special compared to the rest? The Whataburger Mushroom and Swiss Burger consists of two grilled all-beef patties, topped with melted Swiss cheese, creamy au jus sauce, and grilled mushrooms, all sandwiched between a sliced warm bun.
Although the relaunch of this beloved menu item is music to many fans’ ears, the Whataburger Mushroom and Swiss Burger will not stay on the menu forever.Â

The fan-favorite item will only be available for a limited time at all locations nationwide from April 1 until June 2. It can be ordered and enjoyed in-store, picked up at the drive-thru, or ordered through the Whataburger app for curbside or delivery.
However, once the burger is removed from the menu indefinitely, there is room for new products to be launched or for other banished favorites to come back.Â
Some are still waiting for the return of the infamous Steak Fajitas, which have not been seen since the early 2000s.
