Las Vegas Strip casinos are in constant renewal with new construction and renovation projects underway across the 4.2-mile stretch of Las Vegas Boulevard.

One of the most significant projects to launch on the Strip, since the development of Sphere Las Vegas between 2019 and 2023, will be the construction of a new stadium for Major League Baseball’s Athletics, which is expected to begin in spring 2025.

The historic Tropicana Casino & Resort closed in April 2024 and was imploded on Oct. 9, 2024, to make way for the development of a $1.5 billion, 33,000-seat baseball stadium for the Athletics, which is expected to be completed in time for the 2028 baseball season.

Another major project on the Strip is the Hard Rock International Guitar Hotel, which plans to open in 2027 on the site of The Mirage resort casino, which closed on July 17, 2024, to be demolished to make way for the new project.

MGM Grand Hotel & Casino launched a $300 million remodel of all 4,212 rooms and suites in its main tower, which is slated for completion in December 2025. The first phase of the main tower’s newly remodeled rooms began taking reservations in March 2025.

MGM Resorts International also teamed with Marriott International in 2024 to convert the iconic Delano Las Vegas, a non-gaming property on the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino campus, to a new W Hotel brand on the Strip, which reopened on Dec. 18, 2024.

Another major renovation project on the Strip was launched by Apollo Global Management’s Venetian Resort Las Vegas in 2024, featuring a $1.5 billion renovation of the 4,000 all-suite Venetian towers and the resort’s casino, which is expected to be completed in 2026.

The Cromwell becomes Vanderpump Hotel

Casino operator Caesars Entertainment revealed that it will transform its luxury lifestyle boutique hotel The Cromwell on the Las Vegas Strip into The Vanderpump Hotel, in partnership with reality television star Lisa Vanderpump.

The Vanderpump Hotel, which is expected to open in early 2026 at the corner of Las Vegas Boulevard and Flamingo Road across the street from Caesars Palace, will start renovations in summer 2025 to enhance the hotel’s reception and front desk areas, design an all-new lounge, and redesign the property’s 188 guest rooms and suites.
