Thanksgiving Day celebrates gratitude shared among family, friends, and loved ones, but one cannot deny that food also plays a significant role in the celebration.

Many families all over the U.S. spend half a day cooking and making sure everyone is well-fed. However, not everyone has the patience or the culinary abilities to host such an overwhelming feast.

There is no law dictating which foods are considered proper Thanksgiving options. Not everyone is a fan of the typical turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, green bean casserole, gravy, and cranberry sauce.

Not only is making Thanksgiving dinner time-consuming, it’s also costly. Although cooking at home is supposed to be more affordable, the vast amount of food that ends up being thrown away, in spite of several days of eating leftovers, probably costs more than going to a restaurant.

McDonald’s is the modern-day Thanksgiving Day feast 

Imagine replacing the typical Thanksgiving feast with a McDonald’s value meal deal instead. 

McDonald’s is one of the most beloved food chains worldwide due to its incredibly affordable prices, quick service, and great-tasting food. It’s definitely no Michelin-star restaurant, but one cannot deny that it hits the spot every time. 

So what’s stopping anyone from changing the tradition? This fast food giant has an alternative for practically every Thanksgiving food item.

McNuggets could replace the turkey, mashed potatoes could easily be replaced by McDonald’s World Famous Fries, apple slices are a great replacement for fruit salad, McDonald’s baked apple pie single-handedly overtakes pumpkin pie, and Sweet ‘N Sour sauce would definitely be more of a fan favorite than the cranberry sauce that no one eats.

Lucky for those who don’t cook and want to save money while still enjoying a delicious meal, McDonald’s  (MCD)  announced that most of its restaurants will open on Thanksgiving Day.

However, hours vary based on location, but with McDonald’s being the world’s largest fast-food chain, with over 40,000 locations in over 100 countries, an open location will surely be nearby. 

So, if you don’t want to drive to one of the few accidentally closed McDonald’s or encounter any trouble, visit the McDonald’s app or store locator to find out which exact locations will be open for sure, along with their operational hours.
