The Las Vegas Strip’s 4.2-mile stretch of Las Vegas Boulevard is evolving with plans for new hotel developments, a new baseball stadium, and renovations and rebranding of several existing resorts.

The historic Tropicana Casino & Resort shut down in April 2024 and was imploded on Oct. 9, 2024, to make way for the development of a $1.5 billion, 33,000-seat baseball stadium for Major League Baseball’s Athletics, with construction beginning in April 2025.

Bally’s Corp. also plans to build a new resort hotel-casino on the site.

Apollo Global Management’s Venetian Resort Las Vegas in 2024 launched a $1.5 billion renovation of the 4,000 all-suite Venetian towers and the resort’s casino, which is expected to be completed in 2026.

The Mirage resort casino on the Strip closed on July 17, 2024, and will be replaced by a Hard Rock International Guitar Hotel, which the owners are planning to open in 2027.

MGM Grand Hotel & Casino revealed a $300 million remodel of all 4,212 rooms and suites in its main tower, which is slated for completion in December 2025. The first phase of the main tower’s newly remodeled rooms began taking reservations on March 1, 2025.

MGM Resorts International teamed with Marriott International in 2024 to convert the iconic Delano Las Vegas, a non-gaming property on the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino campus, to a new W Hotel brand on the Strip, which reopened on Dec. 18.

The Cromwell Casino transforms to Vanderpump Hotel

And now, casino operator Caesars Entertainment  (CZR)  has revealed that it will transform its luxury lifestyle boutique hotel The Cromwell on the Las Vegas Strip into The Vanderpump Hotel, in partnership with reality television star Lisa Vanderpump.

The Vanderpump Hotel, which is expected to open in early 2026 at the corner of Las Vegas Boulevard and Flamingo Road across the street from Caesars Palace, will begin a renovation in summer 2025 to enhance the hotel’s reception and front desk areas, design an all-new lounge, and redesign the property’s 188 guest rooms and suites.

The hotel’s design will feature Vanderpump Alain furnishings and lighting fixtures with an emphasis on sexy elegance and comfort, gorgeous rooms, and a new feel to the casino floor, according to a March 12 statement.

The hotel casino currently features Giada De Laurentiis’ restaurant Giada, Bound lobby bar, Interlude casino lounge, Drai’s Beachclub and Nightclub, Drai’s After Hours, and a Caesars Sportsbook.

The Cromwell will continue operating through renovations

The Cromwell will continue operating during renovations, and additional details of the transformation will be revealed as the project evolves.

“I am thrilled to once again be partnering with Caesars Entertainment, this time to venture into the hotel business,” Vanderpump said in the statement.

The Vanderpump Hotel is the reality star’s first hotel venture after launching successful establishments in wine, spirits, restaurants, and lounges, including Vanderpump Cocktail Garden at Caesars Palace, Vanderpump Ă  Paris at Paris Las Vegas, Wolf by Vanderpump at Harvey’s Lake Tahoe, and Pinky’s by Vanderpump at Flamingo Las Vegas.

Vanderpump and her husband, Ken Todd, began opening restaurants and lounges over 30 years ago and currently operate 39 establishments. 

Reality star Vanderpump is best known for her Bravo TV series “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” and the spinoff “Vanderpump Rules.”
