Country music has been a mainstay of Las Vegas entertainment for decades with many examples of country stars headlining in Sin City since the 1950’s.

Legendary western swing star Bob Wills and his Texas Playboys performed at the Showboat Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas back in spring 1959, according to the Texas State Historical Association. Country icon Patsy Cline was the first woman country star headliner in Las Vegas in the early 1960s with a 35-day engagement at The Mint downtown, according to VisitMusicCity.com.

Country superstar Willie Nelson played the Golden Nugget in downtown Vegas in 1963 and returned to Vegas many times over the decades for shows, including more recently in October 2019 at the Venetian Theatre at the Venetian.

Later in March 1967, Willie’s good friend Waylon Jennings headlined the Golden Nugget and he, too, would return to Sin City and play the Strip many more times over the years.  

Other iconic country performers have taken the stage in Las Vegas, including Johnny Cash, Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton. More recently, the Strip has hosted country stars Tim McGraw and Faith Hill, Brooks & Dunn with Reba McEntire and George Strait, and Lady Antebellum, now known as Lady A.

Country music superstar Garth Brooks’ Las Vegas Strip residencies date back to his five-year Garth at Wynn residency that began in December 2009 at the Encore Theatre at Wynn Las Vegas and ended in January 2014. Garth Brooks’ Plus One residency is currently scheduled to run at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace in July, September, October and December.

Shania Twain’s “Come On Over” residency continues at Caesars Entertainment’s  (CZR)  Bakkt Theater at Planet Hollywood with shows in August, September, November and December. Carrie Underwood’s “Reflection” residency rolls through Resorts World Las Vegas in August and October.

Keith Urban brings his residency to Sin City’s newest resort hotel Fontainebleau’s BleauLive Theater for five nights in October 2024 and another five shows in February 2025.

Brad Paisley returns to Encore Theater for residency

Finally, country superstar Brad Paisley returns to the Las Vegas Strip at Wynn Resorts’  (WYNN)  Encore Theater at the Wynn Las Vegas for his five-show acoustic residency “One Man Six Strings” Oct. 18, 19, Dec. 6, 7 and 8. Tickets are currently on sale at Ticketmaster.com, ranging from $64 for seats located high up in the Mezzanine to $650 in the front row in the Orchestra Center section at last check.

Paisley last performed at the Encore Theater for acoustic shows April 14-15, 2023. He also performed two shows each at the Encore in November 2022, March 2022 and in June 2021.

Paisley has written 21 of his 25 Number 1 hits and in 2008 was the first country artist to have 10 consecutive Billboard Country Airplay No. 1 singles.

The highly decorated solo country artist has won three Grammys, two American Music Awards, 15 Academy of Country Music Awards and 14 Country Music Association Awards, including entertainer of the year. He also co-hosted the Country Music Association Awards alongside superstar country singer Carrie Underwood 11 times from 2008-2018.
