Visitors to the Las Vegas Strip enjoy patronizing its lineup of celebrity chef restaurants and other popular long-time-operating dining establishments.
Caesars Entertainment’s (CZR) restaurants operated by celebrity chefs include Brasserie B and Amalfi by Bobby Flay; Gordon Ramsay’s Hell’s Kitchen and Pub & Grill at Caesars Palace Las Vegas, Gordon Ramsay Steak at Paris Las Vegas; Guy Fieri’s Vegas Kitchen & Bar at the Linq Hotel or Guy Fieri’s Flavortown Sports Kitchen at the Horseshoe.

MGM Resorts International’s (MGM) casinos also feature several celebrity chef restaurants, including Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill or Joel Robuchon at MGM Grand.

The Strip features dozens of non-celebrity chef restaurants that may not have the allure of a celebrity-operated establishment. Some of those restaurants have remained open for 10 or more years but eventually run their course and are replaced by new dining establishments.
MGM Resorts International on Oct. 30 permanently closed one of its limited-hours restaurants, Della’s Kitchen at Delano Las Vegas on the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino campus, which originally opened in September 2014.
MGM will replace the restaurant with a new concept when it converts the Delano to the W Las Vegas later this year.
Long-time Vegas Strip restaurants close
Popular breakfast and lunch cafe Avenue Café at the MGM Grand, which has operated since June 2013, closed permanently on Nov. 17. The restaurant is expected to be replaced with a new concept in February 2025.
Ocean One Bar and Grille at Caesars Entertainment’s Planet Hollywood Las Vegas Hotel and Casino’s Miracle Mile Shops also closed in November.
The restaurant was known as one of the most affordable establishments on the Strip, as its lunch menu was priced at $5.99 for all of its items, and its happy hour special featured three cocktails for $12.
The restaurant management is searching for a new location as it posted a message to potential customers.
Wynn Resorts Limited’s (WYNN) hotel-casino Wynn Las Vegas has been busy closing popular restaurants with plans to remodel existing locations or replace them with new establishments.
Wynn Las Vegas in May 2024 temporarily closed La Cave Wine & Food Hideaway for remodeling and reopened the restaurant on Aug. 21, 2024. The restaurant originally opened in 2010.
Wynn Las Vegas also in mid-July 2024 closed its popular picturesque Lakeside Grill that overlooked the hotel’s Lake of Dreams with plans to replace the seafood restaurant in early 2025 with a new Mediterranean seafood eatery, Fiola Mare.
The new restaurant will be operated by chef Fabio Trabocchi, who has won James Beard and Michelin awards for his mid-Atlantic and South Florida restaurants.

Restaurant ‘residency’ closes on Las Vegas Strip
And now, Wynn Las Vegas will close its Mediterranean and Middle Eastern Safta 1964 restaurant from James Beard Award-winning chef Alon Shaya on Dec. 31.

Safta 1964, which opened on April 4, 2024, is considered a “culinary residency,” according to Wynn’s website. The restaurant is open from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m., Sunday-Tuesday, and 5:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., Friday and Saturday. It is located within midday restaurant Jardin at the hotel-casino and is a new version of Shaya’s Michelin-award-winning Safta in Denver.

The restaurant’s menu includes Braised Short Rib, Harissa Roasted Chicken, Red King Crab Tagine, Pomegranate Braised Lamb Shank, and Ora King Salmon.
Reservations are open through New Year’s Eve, with special holiday menus for Christmas, Hanukkah, and New Year’s Eve.
