The year began with country star Luke Bryan ending his engagement at Resorts World on Jan. 6, 2024, followed by popular singer Miranda Lambert closing her “Velvet Rodeo” residency at Planet Hollywood on April 6, 2024.

Then there are the superstar performers who extended their engagements with more shows that they say will be the final performances of their residency.
Garth Brooks launched his Plus One residency at Caesars Entertainment’s (CZR) Colosseum at Caesars Palace on the Strip on May 18, 2023, and in September scheduled the final nine shows of the engagement on three weekends in February and March 2025.
Country music superstar Carrie Underwood, who opened her “Reflection” residency at the Resorts World Theatre at Resorts World Las Vegas in December 2021, has set her final shows for April 9, 11, and 12, 2025, that will complete a run for over 70 shows.

New Edition wrapping up residency
Finally, popular superstar R&B group New Edition in November 2023 did something no entertainer has done at Wynn Resorts’ (WYNN) Encore Theater at Wynn Las Vegas on the Strip. The “Candy Girl” singers sold out their initial six-show residency, which was scheduled for late February and early March 2024, in just 45 minutes after going on sale.
As the group completed the sold-out residency on March 9, 2024, it put six more shows set for July on sale. All of those shows eventually sold out as well.
With the second batch of residency shows sold out, New Edition gave fans more chances to see them on the Strip as they added three more shows on the residency scheduled for Oct. 30, Nov. 1, and Nov. 2 and put the tickets on sale immediately.
As the final two shows approach on Nov. 1 and 2, each show had around 100 seats remaining just a couple days before the performances and are sure to sell out.
Fans of New Edition will need to access Ticketmaster’s Verified Resale ticket market or other secondary market sites if they are unable to secure tickets for the final shows as the group is wrapping up its high-demand residency at the 1,480-seat Encore Theater with the final shows on Nov. 1-2.
New Edition has not indicated whether it plans to add any more shows to its residency, but it could extend the residency into 2025 as it concludes its 15th show.
As it stands now, New Edition will close its residency when it walks off the stage on Nov. 2 and the theater raises the house lights.
New Edition, featuring Bobby Brown, Ronnie DeVoe, Ricky Bell, Michael Bivins, Ralph Tresvant and Johnny Gill, released their debut album “Candy Girl.” in 1983, which rose to No. 1. The title track knocked Michael Jackson’s huge hit “Beat It” off the top slot on the Billboard Hot Black Singles chart.
