Las Vegas Strip headliner residency postponements seem to occur every year.

Rescheduled shows are a major inconvenience for fans who purchased advance tickets, but the good news is that they can eventually see their chosen performer at a later date.

Fans of the Black Eyed Peas were disappointed when the band canceled its 15-show residency, which was set to begin Feb. 15, 2025, at Caesars Entertainment’s  (CZR)  PH Live at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino.

The band announced on Instagram that the residency would not move forward due to “current circumstances,” and no replacement concert dates were announced.

Last year, singer Christina Aguilera postponed two shows on Jan. 5-6, 2024, at Voltaire in Apollo Global Management’s  (APO)  the Venetian Resort Las Vegas suffering from a case of the flu. Aguilera rescheduled those shows for April 12-13 and extended her residency for an additional 10 shows, ending on Aug. 3, 2024.

Superstar singer Adele postponed her originally planned 24-show “Weekends With Adele” residency at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace that was set for Jan. 21 through April 16, 2022.

Adele moved the beginning of those shows to Nov. 18, 2022, after members of her crew contracted Covid-19 and some of the set pieces designed for the performance were not ready.

Adele eventually performed 100 shows during the residency that ended on Nov. 23, 2024.

Singer Klaus Meine and guitarist Matthias Jabs of Scorpions will perform at the band’s rescheduled residency.

Scorpions looked forward to February residency start

The band was ready to launch the residency in February, as expressed in their statement when they announced the residency in September 2024.

“There couldn’t be a better way than to start 2025 in Las Vegas with another residency at Planet Hollywood…come and celebrate with us our 60th anniversary and catch a rockin’ good time…we gonna sting yaaaa!” lead singer Klaus Meine said in the statement.

The Hannover, Germany, band was founded in 1965 and was part of the first wave of metal bands in the 1970s with the launch of their first album “Lonesome Crow,” in 1972.

The band has sold 110 million records globally and enjoyed huge success in the 1980s with its “Love at First Sting” and “Blackout” albums, as well as popular singles “Rock You Like a Hurricane,” “No One Like You,” “Send Me an Angel,” and “Wind of Change.”

Scorpions last performed on the Strip for nine shows from April 11 through May 3, 2024, at Planet Hollywood’s Bakkt Theater, before it was renamed PH Live, to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of its “Love at First Sting” album.

Before its “Love at First Sting” residency, Scorpions performed its “Sin City Nights” residency in March and April 2022 at Planet Hollywood’s former Zappos Theater. The band also played a five-show residency at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in May 2016.
