From its delicious food to its Happy Meal toys, McDonald’s has brought so much nostalgia to many people worldwide for over 85 years.

Although rival chains like Restaurant Brands International’s (QSR) Burger King and Wendy’s (WEN) have tried competing against it by launching their own versions of kids’ meals with collectible toys, none compare to the fast-food giant’s Happy Meals.

As the pioneer of the fast-food kids’ meal trend, it’s no surprise that McDonald’s sells over 1 billion Happy Meals worldwide, making up a big part of its yearly income.

McDonald’s Happy Meal owes success to its toys
McDonald’s has undoubtedly released some of the best Happy Meal toys of all time. They are so iconic that many of us still remember them or even proudly display them on our shelves, something the competition has been unable to accomplish.
I mean, not many can forget when McDonald’s released Beanie Babies, 80 different Furbys, an entire lineup of My Little Pony, and even Tamagotchis.

Some toys have been so popular and in incredibly high demand throughout the years that the fast-food giant has re-released them to the public so fans can finally complete their unfinished collections.
Just recently, McDonald’s brought back the Squishmallow toys after two years, featuring 12 designs. These became such a success that people began reselling them on eBay for absurd prices.
This time, the fast-food giant has released a new Happy Meal, and toys are not the only surprises found inside.
McDonald’s introduces the new Happy Meal
McDonald’s (MCD) and Disney’s (DIS) Pixar have teamed up to unveil this month’s newest Happy Meal collaboration. It features the upcoming Elio movie, which will be released in theaters on June 20 this year.
The new Elio Happy Meal introduces eight different movie-themed character toys, including Aquarii, Alya, Glordon, Girgon, Helix, Mira, Questa, and of course, Elio.

Fans can also find a QR code on the Happy Meal box that, when scanned, allows them to play the new virtual “Go to space with Elio!” game as well as access coloring and activity sheets, information on the movie characters, instructions on how to build and play with the toys, and a teaser of the upcoming movie.
The Elio Happy Meal is currently available for a limited time at all McDonald’s locations nationwide until June 30.
