During Christmas, i spent a few days working on a small project: https://meteoritedb.com/
Any feedback or ideas are appreciated !!
(I think i’m not breaking the rules. It’s a small personal project and i honestly just want some dev related feedback. If it’s not allowed, please just comment it and i delete the post)
Nice job dude
Thank you!
maybe first size of map should be the one with some meteorites instead of some set size:
current, no spots: https://i.imgur.com/pGsmEZG.png
bit larger, one spot: https://i.imgur.com/6iBiuVZ.png
I have many near me, so i didn’t think of that! maybe i will focus on the closest one! Thank you
Am I blind or is the source code not linked?
Great! Is there a way to pick a region instead of just using near me? Currently far away from home. I tried the search bar, but no luck.
hi! Yes, currently you can only search some keywords. Try your district 🙂 or nearest big town. Im working on a world map to implement on the website. Thanks!
Very cool. Nice one!
Nice! It’s a nice little project for Christmas holidays. If I may ask, where do you find the meteorites data? Is it through any public API?
Hi thanks!! It’s a NASA dataset. I’m currently using some others APIs to add more detailed data in the future 🙂
Should be nice to sort the database other than alphabetical order, like year, mass and class. You can do that pretty easily with datatables.
What is it for? Where the data come from? I would like to see that in the About section. Other than that, from the user point of view, it is quite fast and responsive.
Since your Mapbox API token is really easy to find, I hope you have restrictions on how that token may be used. Your code is really straightforward, and since I do not have your backend code, I’d give you 3/5 stars.
Great work. Spent quite some time looking at the different meteorites on the planet.
nice job doooooooooddddddd!!!!!! the prinnies love it!
(I realize no one will get that refference)

Yeah, I’m guessing a 9:1 Google to Get ratio on that one.
