Famously known for making grand entrances, pop superstar Rihanna turned heads at the 2025 Met Gala without even stepping onto the red carpet. Hours before the fashionable event, she was photographed leaving The Carlyle Hotel wearing knee-high suede boots, carrying a fur stole, and outfitted in a stunning, cropped Miu Miu dress that revealed her growing baby bump — announcing to the world that she was pregnant again.

Although she hasn’t released an album since 2016, Rihanna continues to generate headlines from her personal life, including a high-profile verdict involving her longtime boyfriend, A$AP Rocky, in 2025, and a headlining performance at the Super Bowl Halftime Show in 2023.

She’s also a longstanding fixture at The Met Gala, holding court over shining stars from both Hollywood and business; in fact, it’s Rihanna’s entrepreneurial ventures that have contributed the bulk of her nine-digit net wealth.

You might even say that Rihanna doesn’t need to make any more music to make money, although she promises her fans that her ninth album (commonly known as “R9”) is forthcoming — as she told Harper’s Bazaar, she just had to “crack the code” on its artistic direction first.

So, what’s her net worth in 2025?

What is Rihanna’s net worth in 2025?

According to Forbes, Rihanna has a net worth of $1.4 billion in 2025.

Most of her wealth comes from her makeup line, Fenty Beauty, of which she is a 50% owner. The other 50% is owned by French luxury conglomerate LVMH, run by Bernard Arnault, who consistently ranks among the top 10 richest people on the planet.

LVMH owns more than a dozen upscale brands, including Louis Vuitton, Sephora, Tiffany & Co., Christian Dior, Moët & Chandon, and Bulgari. The luxury retailer has collaborated with Rihanna since Fenty’s very beginnings in 2016.

Who is richer, Beyoncé or Rihanna?

In her bestselling book, “Matriarch,” Tina Knowles, Beyoncé’s mother, outlined how pop singers don’t actually make that much money from selling albums; rather, the bulk of their profits come from songwriting and concert tours.

She could have also added business ventures, because Rihanna’s successful cosmetics brand, Fenty Beauty, has allowed the Barbadian singer to amass nearly double the wealth as Knowles’ daughter — Beyoncé’s current net worth stands at “just” $760 million in 2025.

However, in April 2025, Queen Bey embarked upon her tenth concert tour, “The Cowboy Carter and the Rodeo Chitlin’ Circuit Tour,” which is expected to add a few more zeros to her bottom line; Beyoncé’s “Renaissance Concert Tour,” which took place in 2023, earned $579 million in ticket sales alone.

Rihanna’s early life and music career

Robyn Rihanna Fenty was born on February 20, 1988, in the parish of St. Michael, Barbados. Her mother, accountant Monica Braithwaite, is of Guyanese descent, while her father, warehouse manager Ronald Fenty, is African, Irish, English, and Scottish. She has two brothers and three half-siblings.

An enterprising child, Rihanna loved to sing and surprised her father and a neighbor by her perfect rendition of “A Whole New World” from the 1992 film “Aladdin;” the four-year-old used her hairbrush as a microphone. Her father often sold clothes in a street market for extra money, and she was often right there with him, helping out. She also sold candy to her friends at school for a profit.

Tragically, Rihanna’s childhood was marred by her father’s addictions to drugs and alcohol, and when he hit her mother, she stepped in to break up the fights. The stress of her parents’ marital troubles took a toll on Rihanna’s health, but when her parents finally divorced in 2002, the intense migraines she had suffered throughout her childhood improved as well.

Bullied at her high school, the Combermere School, because she was light-skinned in complexion, the 5’8” singer quickly learned how not to care what others thought.

Rihanna formed a girl group with two of her classmates, and even though they didn’t have any songs — or even a name for the group — they landed an audition with Evan Rogers, an American record producer who was vacationing on the island with his wife. He had worked with Kelly Clarkson and Christina Aguilera and instantly loved the “edge” her voice had, telling Entertainment Weekly, “the minute Rihanna walked into the room, it was like the other two girls didn’t exist.”

Rihanna’s discography

During school holidays over the course of the next year, Rihanna and her mother flew back and forth to Connecticut where Rogers had a recording studio. After her sixteenth birthday, Rihanna even moved in with Rogers’ family so that she could continue recording, and she finished high school with the help of a tutor.

Her first number-one hit, “Pon de Replay,” came out in January 2005; a few weeks later, she signed a deal with Def Jam Records and would go on to produce two studio albums in just eight months’ time.

“Music of the Sun” (2005)

Rihanna’s debut album was released on August 29, 2005, and featured elements of dancehall, reggae, and R&B music, along with pop and hip hop beats. It peaked at #10 on the Billboard 200 charts, with two hit singles, “Pon de Replay” and “If It’s Lovin that You Want,” going certified platinum in 2006. That year, Rihanna also embarked on her first concert tour, “Rihanna: Live in Concert,” which hit 39 stops across the United States, Canada, and the Caribbean and generated $18 million in ticket sales.

“A Girl Like Me” (2006)

Rihanna’s second studio album offered another nod to her Caribbean roots, peaking at #5 on the Billboard 200. Rihanna told MTV that these songs were “all about what it’s like to be a girl like me, speaking of personal experiences as well as things that girls like me have gone through.”

Her single, “SOS,” which featured a catchy sample of “Tainted Love” by Soft Cell, sold more than one million copies. The album’s other hits included appearances from the era’s hottest artists; “Unfaithful” was written by Ne-Yo, while “Break It Off” was co-written with Sean Paul.

Def Jam President, Jay-Z, admitted that Rihanna was working at “an unbelievable breakneck pace,” so he encouraged her to take a break and head home to Barbados. However, Rihanna’s vacation only lasted a few days, as the driven songstress was eager to return to the studio with fresh material for her third album.

“Good Girl Gone Bad” (2008)

Rihanna’s most successful album, “Good Girl Gone Bad,” signaled a change in direction from her previous efforts and featured more upbeat, dancehall tracks. Jay-Z even appeared on her smash “Umbrella,” which peaked at #1 on the Billboard 200 and sold more than 9 million albums worldwide. It also earned Rihanna her first Grammy.

Other hit singles included “Don’t Stop the Music,” “Hate that I Love You,” and “Shut Up & Drive.” Rihanna also embarked on an 80-stop global concert tour, the “Good Girl Gone Bad Tour,” which generated $29 million in ticket sales.

She later reissued the album, “Good Girl Gone Bad: Reloaded,” with three new songs: “Disturbia,” “Take a Bow,” and “If I Never See Your Face Again” (with Maroon 5), with each topping the charts. Fans simply could not get enough.

“Rated R” (2009)

Perhaps in light of the turn her life had taken, enduring abuse from her then-boyfriend, Chris Brown, Rihanna’s next album was much darker in tone yet still maintained the pop beats that resonated with listeners.

“Rude Boy” claimed Billboard’s #1 spot for six weeks; she also released “Run This Town” with Jay-Z and Kanye West, “Love the Way You Lie” with Eminem, and “Fly” with Nicki Minaj.

“Loud” (2010)

With her next album, “Loud,” Rihanna set a Billboard record for being the artist to earn ten #1 singles in the shortest amount of time: Just four years, 11 months, and two weeks.

This album’s smash tracks included “Only Girl (In the World),” “What’s My Name?” (featuring Drake), and “S&M” with Britney Spears. Rihanna also won a Grammy that year for Best Dance Recording, while the “Loud” tour generated $90 million in ticket sales.

“Talk That Talk” (2011)

Rihanna’s sixth album was released in November 2011. Recorded during her “Loud” concert tour, “Talk That Talk” was a dance/pop/R&B crossover hit that earned positive reviews from critics and sold over a million copies in the U.S. alone.

Its lead single, “We Found Love,” topped charts in twenty-seven countries worldwide, and Rihanna won her third Grammy for Best Rap Collaboration: “All of the Lights” with Kanye West.

“Unapologetic” (2012)

“Unapologetic,” which came out in November 2012, debuted in the top spot on the Billboard 200 charts and sold over four million copies globally. Rihanna’s “Diamonds World Tour” generated $137 million in ticket sales.

Hits included “Diamonds” and “Stay.” Rihanna tied and then surpassed Madonna and The Supremes’ hit singles record: They each had 12, while Rihanna went on to earn 14.

Rihanna has cited both musical groups as major influences in her own recording career and even referred to herself as “the black Madonna” for her constant sense of self-reinvention.

“Anti” (2016)

After a few years’ hiatus, as well as departing from Def Jam Recordings to sign with Roc Nation, Rihanna’s eighth album, “Anti,” was released in 2016. Rihanna showcased a new sound, incorporating lo-fi beats and downtempo rhythms, which made this album a more muted and soulful outpouring than her previous dance records.

“Work” hit #1 on the Billboard charts, while the album as a whole went certified six-times platinum. The “ANTI World Tour” grossed more than $134 million in ticket sales.

2016–Present

While her eagerly anticipated follow up to “Anti” has yet to be released, Rihanna didn’t spend the intervening years on vacation: She found love, had kids, and recorded songs for the 2022 blockbuster film “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,” which earned her nominations for Golden Globe and Oscar awards for Best Original Song.

On February 12, 2023, Rihanna headlined the Super Bowl LVII Halftime Show, where she again revealed — in her signature, over-the-top fashion — that she was pregnant with her second child. 121 million viewers tuned into her live performance, making it the most-watched Super Bowl Halftime Show to date.

In total, Rihanna has sold over 250 million records, including 14 number-one singles, which makes her one of the top-selling singers in history. According to Guinness World Records, she has the distinction of being the best-selling female recording artist of the 21st Century.

In 2016, Rihanna appeared on Calvin Harris’ album, “96 Months,” singing “This Is What You Came For;” Harris and Nils Sjöberg were given the songwriting credit. However, it was later revealed that Nils Sjöberg wasn’t actually a Swedish songwriter — it was Taylor Swift in disguise.

Rihanna and Harris performed the hit at the 2016 Coachella Music Festival, while Swift sang her own version during a surprise performance during the “Eras Tour” on June 14, 2024.

Rihanna’s business ventures

If you’ve been wondering what Rihanna has been up to since “Anti” came out, look no further than her sizzling business empire.

Fenty

Rihanna’s cosmetics line caused waves when it launched in 2017 because it was one of the few shade-inclusive makeup brands that benefited women of all skin tones. In fact, several of its darkest shades sold out a few days after its debut. Just one month into the launch, Fenty had already generated $100 million in sales.

Today, Fenty Beauty is available online, at Sephora, and at Ulta Beauty and has a $2.8 billion valuation, according to Forbes.

Savage X Fenty

Applying her brilliant business ideas to the realm of fashion, Rihanna introduced a lingerie line in 2018 that featured an inclusive range of sizes, shapes, and colors. Her first collection sold out in a month; by 2021, Forbes valued it at another cool $1 billion.

Endorsements and sponsorships

Before hanging her own shingle with Fenty, Rihanna minted major profits for a range of name brands, including Armani, Chopard, CoverGirl, Dior, MAC Cosmetics, Louis Vuitton, Manolo Blahnik, Puma, River Island, and Samsung: Her deal with the electronics company was worth $25 million alone, and she promoted Samsung’s products during her “ANTI World Tour.

Movies

A familiar face not just on the stage but also on the silver screen, Rihanna has had roles in “Bring It On: All or Nothing” (2006), the animated hit “Home” (2015), “Annie” (2014), and “Ocean’s 8” (2018).

Perfumes

Embracing the trend of celebrity-branded scents, Rihanna has released 11 signature fragrances: Reb’l Fleur, her original perfume, which has notes of red berries, plum, peach, vanilla, coconut, and patchouli, generated $80 million in sales in its first year.

Rihanna’s personal life

The Barbadian beauty’s first publicized romance was with rapper Chris Brown. Tragically, their tumultuous affair disintegrated through domestic violence.

On the morning of the 2009 Grammy Awards, Rihanna cancelled her performance with reports surfacing that Brown had assaulted her. TMZ published unauthorized police photos picturing the singer’s bruised face; Brown was arrested in March 2009 and later charged with two felony counts of assault. He was convicted on both counts and sentenced to five years of probation as well as ordered to stay away from the pop singer for five years.

Drake came into Rihanna’s life later that year, and she and the Toronto rapper sustained an on-again, off-again romance until 2016.

Rihanna next dated Saudi billionaire Hassan Jameel; their relationship lasted from 2017 through 2020.

In 2021, rapper A$AP Rocky (Rakim Mayers) confirmed his romance with Rihanna. The two had been friends and collaborators since 2013. They spent Christmas together, and in an interview with GQ, A$AP Rocky declared Rihanna to be “the love of my life.”

Rihanna gave birth to their first child, a son named RZA, in 2022. In 2023, Rihanna became the first pregnant woman to headline the Super Bowl Halftime Show.

Later that year, she gave birth to their second son, Riot Rose. Rihanna announced her third pregnancy at the 2025 Met Gala, and although she has not officially stated a due date, insiders place it around November 2025.

Rihanna was involved with another high-profile trial through her current partner, A$AP Rocky, who faced two counts of felony assault after a 2021 shooting in Hollywood. He faced up to 24 years in prison if convicted; on February 19, 2025, he was found not guilty on both counts.

Rihanna’s real estate portfolio

An avid buyer and seller of houses, Rihanna’s real estate empire has spanned New York, the Hamptons, Barbados, London (to be closer to Fenty), and Los Angeles. Here’s where she currently resides:

According to Architectural Digest, Rihanna purchased a $13.8 million Beverly Hills home in 2021. Overlooking Coldwater Canyon, the circa-1930s mansion boasts 7,600 square feet of living space, five bedrooms, and seven bathrooms, and has a pool and outdoor entertaining area. It’s located on a cul-de-sac that contains a veritable Who’s Who of musicians, including Madonna, Mariah Carey, and Sir Paul McCartney.

In addition, in 2014, Rihanna bought a $5.5 million penthouse condo in the 42-story Century Tower. Designed by Robert A.M. Stern, the unit features floor-to-ceiling views of the LA skyline stretching all the way to the Pacific Ocean. Notable neighbors here include Paula Abdul and celebrity chef Nobu Matsuhisa. The late “Friends” star, Matthew Perry, also lived in the building.

In 2023, Rihanna briefly owned another unit in the Century Tower, a $21 million penthouse, before putting it back on the market a few months later, although it was sold for a slight loss at $20.8 million in May 2024.

Over in Barbados, Rihanna maintains a $22 million beachside villa near the Sandy Lane Hotel, which is not too far from another one of her properties, a five-bedroom mansion that she bought for her mother for $2 million in 2012.
