- The Galaxy S27 Ultra is rumored to keep the same 60W charging rating as the S26 Ultra.
- But Samsung may make that 60W work harder, potentially cutting charging times despite a larger battery.
- It’s still unclear whether the improvements will remain exclusive to the S27 Ultra.
Apple gave Samsung an unusual taste of its own numbers game this year. The iPhone 18 Pro Max arrived with a 5,391mAh rated battery, edging past the Galaxy S26 Ultra’s 5,000mAh cell, while Apple also substantially improved wired charging to match Samsung. While the next Galaxy Ultra is already rumored to respond with a 5,700mAh battery, Samsung may have another trick planned for getting that larger cell topped up faster.
According to leaker WalleGalaxy, the Galaxy S27 Ultra will retain the S26 Ultra’s 60W charging rating. However, Samsung is reportedly working on charging optimizations that would let the phone hold higher power levels longer during the early stages of a charge.
