Happy Friday. Stock futures were climbing as oil prices eased and technology stocks rebounded.

Markets closed mixed on Thursday as oil prices climbed and tech stocks fell following reports that OpenAI’s annualized revenue was roughly $20 billion lower than previously estimated. The Dow Jones Industrial Average eked out a small gain.

“Markets are heading towards the end of the week with US equities attempting to recover after Thursday’s technology-led sell-off on renewed concerns around AI valuations combined with rising oil prices and elevated Treasury yields,” Daniela Hathorn, senior market analyst at Capital.com, said.

“However, futures are moving higher this morning, suggesting investors remain willing to buy into weakness,” she added.

The University of Michigan’s Surveys of Consumers is scheduled to be released today at 10 a.m. ET.

Delta Air Lines (DAL) shares were falling nearly 4% in premarket trading after the carrier missed earnings estimates for the first time in two years and slashed its 2026 profit outlook as high fuel prices persist.

Hathorn said oil remains a crucial driver of broader risk appetite.

“Brent has retreated slightly as comments from Washington suggesting progress in US-Iran negotiations helped ease immediate supply concerns,” she said. “However, continued attacks on shipping around the Strait of Hormuz mean the geopolitical premium is unlikely to disappear quickly.

“The implications for the broader market remain unchanged, as higher crude threatens to keep inflation elevated, complicating the Fed’s policy outlook and potentially putting renewed pressure on Treasury yields.”
