Apple’s Big Day: New iPhone 17 on the Way
There used to be a charm and mysticism to Apple’s (AAPL) annual keynotes, but in a world where almost everything leaks, we already have a rough outline for today’s Apple Event.
The company is set to announce its new iPhone 17 series, which includes four handsets, including an all-new ultralight “Air” series. Other product refreshes could include a new AirPod Pro, a new version of the AirTag, and so on.
The event will be kicking off at Apple Park in Cupertino, CA around 1:00 p.m. ET (10:00 a.m. PT). We’ll provide updates here and how the market is reacting to the news as details emerge.
Earnings Today: Synopsys, Rubrik, GameStop

Economic Data: Payroll Revisions, NFIB Business Optimism, Redbook
This morning, market participants have already gotten a peek at business sentiment data from NFIB. Their index was little-changed in August. Later this morning, we’ll also get Redbook data for the first week of September.
But today’s star is coming in the 10 a.m. hour. Investors will be sat up, awaiting the wildly-anticipated non-farm payrolls annual revision. Downward revisions on payrolls from the 12 months preceding Mar. 2025 could show that the labor market has been much weaker than thought. Analysts don’t have a firm number though; economists have placed bets that revisions could range anywhere from -400K to -1M.
