Taylor Swift has spent her life shattering records. Her “Eras Tour” became the highest-grossing concert tour of all time and was the first to surpass $1 billion in sales.

Grossing $261 million, “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour” became the top-selling concert film in history — a film that she starred in and produced.

At the tender age of 17, Swift became the youngest country musician ever to reach the charts, and throughout her two-decade career, she has racked up 14 number-one albums, more than any other female artist.

Such success easily translates to a staggering net worth; in fact, Swift’s well on her way towards minting her second billion.

Wherever Swift goes, the cameras always seem to follow: Whether it’s hanging out with her A-list group of friends (she’s besties with Selena Gomez and godmother to three of Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds’ children), going on date nights with her boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs star tight end, Travis Kelce, or cheering alongside his mom, Donna Kelce, in the VIP Suite at his NFL games, all eyes are on the pop songstress — proving she has indeed “found her place in the world.”

But with so many achievements already under her belt, how much wealth has Swift accumulated, what could be left for her to accomplish in 2025? The answer might surprise you.

What’s Taylor Swift’s net worth in 2025?

According to Forbes, which publishes a real-time net worth tracker estimating the ups and downs of the world’s richest people, Taylor Swift’s net worth stands at a hefty $1.6 billion as of late January 2025.

Forbes breaks Swift’s wealth down into three categories:

Song royalties and tour profits: $600 million

Swift’s sixth world tour, the two-year “Eras Tour,” grossed $2 billion when it finished in December 2024 — it even coined a phrase, “Swiftonomics,” for its ability to boost the economies of the cities it stopped in. Swift herself pocketed $190 million after the first leg of the tour alone.

Unlike other musicians, like Rihanna, who has amassed substantial wealth from her celebrity-branded makeup line, or Jay-Z, who became a billionaire off of a variety of side hustles, including D’ussé cognac, the majority of Swift’s fortune stems from earnings from her songs and her performances.

In fact, according to Forbes, in October 2023, Swift became the first musician to reach billionaire status based solely on her songs and performances.

And that makes sense. Swift became famous for her exceptional songwriting ability, writing lyrics that capture complex emotions in an appealingly relatable way, album after album.

Swift’s music catalog: $600 million

When Swift left Big Machine Records, her first record label, in 2018, the label was bought by her former manager, Scooter Braun, along with her master recordings, which were sold to Shamrock Capital for $300 million.

After a very public feud, Swift went on the offensive, signing a new distribution deal with Universal Music Group that entitled her to complete ownership of both her songwriting and her recordings.

In the intervening years, Swift released four new albums and re-released four others — “Fearless (Taylor’s Version),” “Red (Taylor’s Version),” “Speak Now (Taylor’s Version)” and “1989 (Taylor’s Version)” — which are now valued at twice the amount of her original music catalog. And this time around, she gets 100% of the profits.

Swift’s real estate portfolio: $125 million

Currently, Swift owns six homes and a $10 million private plane, according to Forbes. The “Midnights” singer has even invested more than $50 million in a single New York City neighborhood — Tribeca — over the years (more on that below).

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s net worth

With three Super Bowl rings to his name and a dominant career in the NFL, including a record seven seasons with more than 1,000 receiving yards, Swift’s boyfriend, Travis Kelce, seems to be a surefire future Hall of Famer. But he’s actually not Swift’s richest boyfriend.

Forbes estimates Kelce’s net worth in 2025 to be $52 million, breaking it down to $17 million in salary and $35 million in endorsement deals from big-name brands like Campbell Soup, Nike, State Farm, and Subway.

Taken together, Swift’s and Kelce’s combined wealth amounts to $1.65 billion, but Kelce barely cracks the Top 5 on Swift’s list of successful beaus — he’s only $2 million richer than her first love as a teenager, Boy Bander Joe Jonas.

How did the NFL tight end meet Swift, anyway? Professing his admiration for the singer, Kelce attempted to give Swift a friendship bracelet with his phone number at her Kansas City concert in July, 2023. Although the two did not meet then, she did hear Kelce discuss his disappointment on an episode of his podcast, “New Heights with Jason & Travis Kelce,” which, as Swift later revealed, she thought was “metal as hell.” The two began dating a few weeks later.

Taylor Swift’s musical beginnings

You might say that Swift was destined for greatness. Born Taylor Alison Swift on December 13, 1989 in West Reading, Penn., Swift was named after James Taylor, an American singer/songwriter known for his especially heartfelt lyrics.

Swift’s family really did live on a Christmas tree farm. Her father, Scott, worked for Merrill Lynch, and her mother, Andrea, was a marketing executive. Her parents divorced in 2011. She has one brother, Austin, who is an actor and producer.

Swift showcased a talent for singing at a young age, performing at a local coffee shop during her family’s summer trips to Stone Harbor, New Jersey, and taking vocal lessons in New York City.

When Swift was 11, she submitted demo tapes to several Nashville music labels, only to be unanimously rejected. This inspired Swift to focus instead on her songwriting; she bought her first guitar and wrote her first song with the help of a local musician and repairman, Ronnie Cremer — effectively changing her career trajectory.

Swift’s songs were soon featured on a Maybelline CD. She also started modeling for the clothing brand Abercrombie & Fitch. At age 13, Swift received an artist development deal from RCA Records Showcase, which afforded her frequent trips to Nashville.

Her father transferred to his company’s Nashville office to help Swift break further into the music scene. Swift attended Hendersonville High School before switching to homeschooling her junior year to play music.

In Nashville, Swift also started working with more experienced songwriters, like Liz Rose, who met up with the budding songstress after school every Tuesday. Swift created a vivid sonic landscape about her high school experiences, later admitting to The Daily Telegraph that she “wanted to capture these years of my life on an album while they still represented what I was going through.”

In 2003, at age 14, Swift was signed by Sony/ATV Tree Music Publishing. By 2005, she had impressed a DreamWorks Record executive while performing at the famed Bluebird Café, which led to her deal with a new, independent label, Big Machine Records, which would be her musical home for the next 13 years.

Swift is considered a style icon for her relaxed and luxurious fashion choices, along with her signature red lipstick.

Taylor Swift’s discography

Swift wrote or co-wrote all of the songs on her 2006 debut album, “Taylor Swift,” which spent 157 weeks on the Billboard charts, peaking at number five. The album contained memorable songs like “Tim McGraw,” “Teardrops on My Guitar” and “Our Song,” which reached number one on Hot Country Songs.

By signing the young Swift, her manager, Scott Borchetta, admitted that he had tapped into a yet-unknown market — teenage girls who liked country music.

Her next album, 2008’s “Fearless,” featured tracks like “Love Story” and “You Belong with Me,” which appealed not only to country music fans but to pop music listeners as well. On this album, Swift also began writing about her relationships, often using her music to share the heartbreak she experiences when going through a breakup.

Swift received the Album of the Year award at the 2009 Grammys. She also took home the award for Best Female Video at that year’s MTV Video Music Awards, only to famously be interrupted by Kanye West, sparking a decades-long feud.

In 2010’s “Speak Now,” Swift again crisscrossed musical boundaries, this time venturing into the rock arena. The album sold one million copies in its first week and was ranked one of the “50 Best Female Albums of All Time” by Rolling Stone.

She next ventured into electronic musical realms with “Red” (2012), which made its debut at the top of the Billboard charts and contained hits like “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together.” “1989” (2014) earned Swift Billboard’s “Woman of the Year” award as well as another Album of the Year Grammy. That album contained hit tracks like “Shake It Off” and “Bad Blood.”

2017’s “Reputation” was Swift’s response to the incredible media attention her personal life was generating. It was also said to be inspired by a successful legal claim she had waged against David Mueller, a DJ for the Denver radio station KYGO-FM.

That year, a jury found Mueller guilty of groping Swift at a pre-concert meet-and-greet, and while she received just $1 in damages, her attorney, Doug Baldridge, explained that it was a symbolic gesture of immeasurable value. “It means no means no, and it tells every woman that they will determine what is tolerated with their body.”

Swift’s “Reputation” world tour generated $345.7 million in ticket sales in 2018.

The next year, after moving over to Universal Music Group, Swift released “Lover” (2019) under the Republic Records’ imprint. Topping the Billboard charts yet again, the album contained songs like “Cruel Summer” and “Cornelia Street” and became the best-selling album of the year.

Swift surprised her fans, known as “Swifties,” by releasing two more albums in 2020: “Folklore” and “Evermore.”

These albums contained a more bohemian tone and even boasted a couple of tracks written by Swift’s then-boyfriend, Joe Alwyn, under the pseudonym, William Bowery. “Folklore” became the top selling album of the year in the U.S. and earned Swift her third Album of the Year Grammy.

After she re-recorded two albums — “Fearless (Taylor’s Version)” and “Red (Taylor’s Version)” in 2021 — both topped the Billboard charts, proving that Swift was simply unstoppable.

Swift’s tenth album, “Midnights,” (2022), contained elements of hip-hop and R&B, and it broke records for the most streams in a single week on Spotify. She received her fourth Album of the Year Grammy for her efforts.

In 2023, Swift re-recorded two more albums — “Speak Now (Taylor’s Version)” and “1989 (Taylor’s Version)” — both of which went to number one on the Billboard charts.

In March 2023, Swift embarked on the Eras Tour, playing a compilation of songs from all of her studio albums. More than three million people registered for pre-sale tickets on the Ticketmaster platform, but when the sale began, Ticketmaster’s website quickly crashed.

Ticketmaster canceled the sale, although it admitted that more than two million tickets had already been sold through costlier and more “privileged” ticket aggregating platforms, like SeatGeek.

Ticketmaster issued a public apology to Swift’s fans, but the company faced widespread criticism for its ineffective handling of the crisis — including from Swift herself.

Swift’s latest album, “The Tortured Poets Department,” was released on April 19, 2024. Said to stem from her two-week relationship with musician Matty Healy, the album encompasses a more subdued style that often features Swift’s breathless solos.

It racked up 1 billion streams on Spotify in one week and spent 17 weeks at the #1 spot on the Billboard charts.

Taylor Swift’s real estate portfolio

Wisely, Swift began investing in real estate at the tender age of 20. In the years since, she has amassed a sizeable portfolio worth $125 million, and according to Architectural Digest, currently owns properties on both U.S. coasts and in Europe.

Here are some highlights:

Her first residence, purchased in 2009, was a $1.99 million Nashville penthouse that she still owns today. It overlooks Music Row and has access to an Olympic-sized swimming pool, private garage, and gym. Later that year, Swift purchased a second unit one floor below hers for an undisclosed amount. Swift owns another property in the Nashville area: A $2.5 million Greek Revival-style mansion on a six-acre parcel of land. It counts Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban as neighbors, and her mother, Andrea, is said to be currently living there.Always up for a party, Swift has hosted unforgettable 4th of July celebrations in her $17.75 million mansion on Rhode Island’s coast. The 12,000-square-foot home features seven bedrooms and nine bathrooms and was formerly owned by socialite Rebekah Harkness, whom Swift alludes to in her song “The Last Great American Dynasty.”Swift also owns several properties in the Tribeca neighborhood of New York, including a $20 million, 8,309-square-foot condo with 10 bedrooms, 10 bathrooms, and multiple wraparound terraces. She also owns a $9.7 million apartment in the same building. She offered the space to her friend, Sophie Turner, during her divorce from Joe Jonas. In addition, Swift owns an $18 million townhouse in Tribeca that was built in 1915, and Swifties will also recall the Cornelia Street property she had rented for $39,500 while her penthouse was under renovation; it inspired a hit romantic ballad of the same name.   On the West Coast, Swift shelled out $25 million for a 10,982-square-foot Beverly Hills mansion that once belonged to Hollywood producer Samuel Goldwyn. It has a tennis court, pool, and separate, two-apartment guest house. Finally, in 2021, Swift purchased a $8.3 million, six-bedroom townhouse in the Primrose Hill neighborhood of London, where her boyfriend at the time, Joe Alwyn, lived. Although the couple broke up in April 2023, Swift reportedly still owns the property.

What is Taylor Swift up to in 2025?

Ever since Swift’s “Eras Tour” wrapped on December 8, 2024, fans have been wondering what the superstar will be up to next.

A source quoted by US Magazine reports that although Swift and Kelce would “love to be engaged,” they “aren’t rushing it.” Instead, Swift is planning to “hibernate for a while,” undoubtedly with her boyfriend, and “do normal things as a couple.”

Rumors are swirling that Swift could be releasing a new album in 2025 and possibly even hitting the road again. But whatever she winds up doing, rest assured Swift will be setting trends, as usual.

After all, she summed herself up best when she sang, “I was so ahead of the curve, the curve became a sphere.”
