This jacket is designed with Arc’teryx’s special Fortius 1.0 fabric, a nylon and elastane blend that’s lightweight, water-repellent, and stretches and moves when you move.
Designed as a soft, flexible shell, the jacket is constructed with a mechanical stretch textile and articulated patterning so that you have unrestricted mobility. The nylon is very strong and abrasion-resistant, and in combination with the elastane, can stretch greatly without deteriorating or ripping. Elastane provides four-way stretch, which allows the fabric to bend and move, and then snap back to its exact original shape. This outer shell is wind- and water-resistant, and it also provides UPF 50+ protection, blocking over 98% of harmful ultraviolet radiation, allowing less than 2% of UV rays to pass through the fabric and hit your skin.
The outer layer is all about protection, while the interior is all about warmth. The jacket has a polyester lining, designed to handle a range of terrains, environments, and conditions, to keep you comfortable and cozy. It is optimized to provide exceptional breathability during intense movement, keeping you cool and dry regardless of what you’re doing.
