- The end of daylight saving time in the US is wreaking havoc on some Nest Hub and Nest Learning Thermostats.
- Users who live in areas that don’t observe daylight saving time say their clocks have moved back by one hour.
- Due to the change, alarms, automations, and schedules are off by an hour.
Daylight saving time (DST) officially ended on Sunday, November 1, at 2:00 AM local time. That means our clocks fell back by one hour, returning to standard time. Us here in the US were rewarded with an extra hour of sleep, but for everyone else, it appears they were rewarded with a new headache. While Android phone and Google Calendar users were prepared for some issues related to DST, that may not have been the case for Nest Hub and Nest Learning Thermostat users.
A large number of reports are coming in from owners of Google’s smart home products. Nest Hub users who live in areas where DST is not observed claim their clocks moved back by an hour. A similar problem is happening for users of Nest Learning Thermostats. As a result, alarms, automations, and schedules are off by an hour.
